Starting this week, I'm smashing my eating and sleeping habits back into shape the best I can. I've been pretty horrible for the past few weeks, going for whole days with very little sleep and no food at all. And I wonder why I'm sick all the time. I'm also not spending anymore money until I get employed or get another government help-me-i'm-poor cheque.
Today, I'm opting out to stay home, get my book and read it, e-mail my teacher with a few questions, research the 60s (HOW OPPORTUNISTIC, I CAN WATCH THE ORIGINAL SPEED RACER AND CATCH UP ON MEMORIES *bricked*), get a dinner for tonight planned out and get some laundry done.
Speaking of dinner, I need to remind myself to ask my parents if it's okay to toss out the old vegetables and buy new ones. We were doing pretty good at not wasting vegetables for a while there, but now I don't think they're any good. I need some new tomatoes, peppers and potatoes. And my dad needs to finish building that barbecue so he can roast that gigantic trout in the freeze. *Q* But yeah, this house needs groceries. I'm being increasingly left without much to throw together for dinner or lunch.
Another note to self: re-download the original Katamari Damacy soundtrack, some TRF, Arashi and TOKIO.
BTW, I saw Speed Racer yesterday on the IMAX. I was about 5 minutes late getting to my show (my bus was late, and I had to walk a looooot to get to the big theatre), so I had to rush getting my ticket and run in. Luckily, I got there just as the last preview was playing, so I timed it perfectly (as I usually do).
I had never been in an IMAX theatre before, and I was sort of intimidated by the fact I was lead through two doors in a row to get in, because apparently it's so loud they need the extra sound block. But holy smokes! The sound was very loud, pristine and sharp and the images were bright, crisp and full of color. The theatre was really dark so I stumbled around trying to find a seat. The ending theme on IMAX? FUCKING AWESOME.
I know Speed Racer got bad reviews, but don't listen to them. Speed Racer is truly a really, really, really good movie. I liked Ironman a lot, but Speed Racer topped it. It is really a shame that a lot of people are refusing to see it for absolutely retarded reasons such as "it's by the guys who made The Matrix" / "it's based off bad anime" / "the scenes look cheap" / "it's going to ruin Speed Racer" / "They added deep meanings to a simple Saturday morning cartoon" / so on and so forth.
I have no friggin idea what's so deep about winning the Ol' Grand Prix and becoming a World Champion. Did they even bother to watch the movie longer than a few minutes? But perhaps in this day and age, family morales and family lessons are too complex for the ordinary, sophisticated movie goer to understand and we should just strip down to the bare necessities (pun intended).
Rant aside, I highly advise everyone to watch it. Do it for me, at least. D: Or at least for Bi's cross-dressing scene. When I saw Rain, I almost screamed but my voice lost its way up in awe. Then when they tried to feed him to the piranhas, I almost cried "OH MY GOD NO RAIN NOOOO" and stood up and everything. XD;;; I also almost screamed when I saw the Speed Racer logo, and when I heard old Speed voice clips at the ending. >_>;; I guess it goes to show how long I've been looking forward to this movie.
